Nieto joins LMS for Algarve 1000km

Motorcycling star Alfonso Nieto will be joining the Spanish Q8 Oils Hache team for the Algarve's 1000km race at the beginning of August. Accustomed to two wheels as opposed to four, the former Champion will be competing in his first top level car race in just over a fortnight's time.

A former Champion of the Spanish 125cc motorcycling championship and multiple race winner and runner-up in the Superbike World Championship (SBK) of 2002, Nieto will spearheading the team at Portimao.

The cockpit of the LMP2 class car will be shared with fellow Spaniards Maximo Cartes and also Carmen Jordá, girlfriend of 'Fonsi' who is combining the drive with some past experience in Formula 3 plus her current marketing studies and modelling jobs.
